Regenerative medicine seeks to mimic the body’s natural healing process and stimulate its own ability to repair damaged tissues. It is an exciting field for researchers looking for therapies that mimic the body’s natural healing processes. It first gained momentum during the tissue engineering boom that followed the proliferation of skin grafting and stem cell research. Eventually, regenerative medicine will replace damaged tissues and organs.
